A-E-I-O-U

Written by hootenannie on February 16th, 2010

Yesterday morning, I woke up wishing to think of a word that contained all 5 vowels.  “To me,” I thought, “that would feel like winning the lottery.”

I never claimed to be cool, people.

A few hours later, when Greta was driving me to the airport, we were behind a Toyota Sequoia.

SEQUOIA.  Boom: jackpot.

I have never in my life awakened wishing to think of a word that contains all the vowels.

Facetious. All five vowels IN ORDER.

Don’t say I never gave you anything.

Oh…and that whole “and sometimes y” rule works, as well (“facetiously”).

    Don’t forget authorize.

The SACRILEGIOUS SEQUOIA FACETIOUSLY AUTHORIZED the use of a e i o u.

… And the Sequoia was driving hideously slow in the LEFT LANE, and so your friend was tail-gating him, as any person would do who hopes to offer gentle instruction to idiot drivers, and lo, you were able to see the Sequoia identifier up close and personal.

Never say my aggressive driving didn’t give you anything.

It is unfortunate that you left Seattle yesterday. Today was beautiful. I take the bus from West Seattle to Ballard 4 days a week now to work my pet insurance job and I usually do my best to tune out and listen to music because it’s over an hour commute. This morning, though, I glanced out the window over the water at downtown and was really surprised to see just how clear the air was and how sunshiny the sun was.

I love this post, especially because I thought I was the ONLY ONE who thought of things like that.
Education is first one I originally thought of, although Sequoia is definitely my all-time fav. :)
