Only in Montrose

e

… could I go from this, to this, to this:

I attended the Wedding of the Century on Saturday night, complete with butterflies in the mountain air and champagne toasting.

Since then, we have been hiking, eating, sleeping, seeing friends, reading, and drinking lots of coffee. It’s been the best vacation ever.

When I was in high school, I couldn’t wait to get out of Montrose. I was ready for the city life, and Seattle didn’t disappoint. But this visit, for the first time in the 8 years since I left, I am starting to think that maybe I’ll live in Montrose again at some point. Now that they finally have a Target, I wouldn’t want for anything.

Stay tuned for my next post, probably entitled something like “Cowgirls and Indians.” See? Now you can’t wait to read it.

Wow, who got married? (Rhetorical.) I’m sure Chelsea Clinton didn’t grab some attention. No, none at all.

Actually, though, she seems like she would be pretty cool.

My sweet friends John and Alia – the wedding was FABULOUS. Amazing.

And yes, I was totally that obnoxious guest taking pictures of Chelsea Clinton through a sea of people. Dang it. I am such a dork.

Were I in Montrose at this very moment, I would drive 15mph over on Woodgate, daydream of the old days when town ended at Taco Bell, play disc golf at Riverbottom, and read back issues of Telluride Style while sipping on an iced tea at the Trader. All at the same time.

There’s no place like home! I agree that I could probably move back to Montrose now that it has a target.

Chelsea Clinton in Mo-town?! Sorry I missed that one!

Ohhhh, HOME! It looks like so much fun and reminds me that it is probably the only place where there could be a gas station called “The Hangin’ Tree”… and get away with it. *sigh* memories…

I just stumbled on your blog. I grew up just outside of Delta, Colorado. I know Montrose very well. As a child, the closest Walmart was in Montrose…
