Prescription sleep aid commercials: a review

blog

Lunesta:
A gigantic glowing moth flies through your open bedroom window and hovers over your face, its gently-beating wings sprinkling sparkly, magical moth-dust and lulling you into a peaceful slumber. “A great tomorrow starts tonight.”

Rozerem:
During a sleepless night, you wander out to find Abraham Lincoln and a fork-wielding beaver sitting at your kitchen table. They want to play chess and talk about your stress at work. An astronaut is fixing food at the counter. “Your dreams miss you.”

Ambien CR:
A shrill midnight phone call rouses you from your bed, but no one is on the other end. When you silently and suspiciously pull back the curtains and look out your window to the dark, deserted street below, you see the culprit: bathed in the glow of a street lamp, a rooster at a pay phone. “Silence your rooster.”

alright, what is in the roserem to lead to all those bizarre dreams?? I’d like the drug that leads to a dream that might involve myself, McSteamy AND McDreamy…you know, playing chess, of course. Or Yahtzee.

I’m a personal fan of Tylonal PM. I buy in bulk. Only problem – if i don’t get enough sleep, i can’t move my arms in the morning. Or legs. Or torso.

Here’s the non-prescription aid that I’ve heard raves about for sleep issues: Say Good Night to Insomnia: The Six-Week, Drug-Free Program Developed At Harvard Medical School, by Gregg D. Jacobs. Sweet dreams!

Have you seen the ad for Mirapex, a restless leg syndrome medication? Make sure to tell your doctor if you experience increased gambling, sexual or other intense urges!

I think I’d rather have restless legs, thanks!

I freaking love the Rozerem commercials… but I admit that I’m not excited about taking it and dreaming of Abraham Lincoln and a beaver…

Um, for the Rozerem ads, aren’t they saying that whatever random, odd dreams you have (or used to have when you were sleeping), they miss you… And come back soon to your sleep and your dreams by taking our drug?

*Not* that you will have those weird dreams by taking it…

LOL. If that’s a common misunderstanding among folks (and I’m seeing it here twice), then they need to rethink their ad campaign, methinks!

    Unisom! I love Unisom!! :)

Loved this. And thank you for explaining the Rozerem commercials. I never GOT those. I was always like, “What’s with Abe and the beaver and stuff?!?!” Ah, “my dreams miss me.” Oh, ok. E

My name is Cherise Kenner and i would like to show you my personal experience with Ambien.

I have taken for 1 years. I am 57 years old. Works great if I take it on an empty stomach, and get right into bed. If you take it and try to keep yourself awake, you can override the pill and be up all night.

    Side Effects :
    None.

I hope this information will be useful to others,
    Cherise Kenner
