Who I’m hanging out with this weekend

Vicious? from Annie Parsons on Vimeo.

And this is AFTER we’ve become “friends.”

I won’t lie: this is a little bit frightening. But I’m a PARSONS, damn it. I’m from a long line of dog wranglers, and I’m going to make good Christians out of these German Shepherds if it’s the last thing I do.

But it very well might be the last thing I do.

“Oh yeah, and this little guy has a tendency to gnaw on people’s arms… So, you know. If he does that, just don’t mind him!”

You’re a braver woman than I am. I would have given the peace sign as soon as she said GNAW ON YOUR ARM.

Stay safe friend– if you get eaten by dogs, I might just spontaneously combust. We have many more glasses to clink and walks to take!!

YOu’re made of good stock, Annie. We Parsons are called by God to show mercy and grace to dogs, and even though you have up to this point showed these traits mostly for Rowdy and Maci, you are manifesting your family strengths at last. Especially in the most challenging of all dog contexts.

And by the way, when you described to me how you had approached these dudes last night, I just thought, “She’s a natural. She did everything right.”

Annie, you do it all right.

    Love, Dad

Greta, apparently it’s called “mouthing” and it’s relatively normal (?). haha…

Dad, if you think that I “do it all right,” then you are delusional. :) But thanks!

Becca, you ARE a licensed dog behaviorist, so I will trust you.

Here’s to gallant heroes past and gone.

Here’s to valiant heroes future and yet to come.

Especially here’s to the bravest heroes of today, to whom we lift a glass and say,

    “Dude, You Are Freaking Crazy!!”

Here’s to you Annie. You’re crazy, and awesome!

You’re a better person than me. Just seeing that video made we want to dig out my old grade school recorder (I wonder where that is?) and play three blind mice over and over just to annoy them. I’m not really a dog, or cat, or bird, or fish, or horse person though. I like people though, even kids!

I once owned a German Shepherd/Chow mix… He was almost the end of me.

I’m not sure if it’s possible for German Shepherds to look vicious, but they do have big mouths. Bleah.

Is it just me or do they sound like they’re singing? I’m going with that belief: They are singing a lovely song of friendship to you, Annie!

Might I suggest a three way harmony? That should bond you together. You’ll be baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in no time!
