Annie says…

blog

Okay, not to be Miss Bossy Pants, but there are several things that you absolutely HAVE to do.

First of all, you have to look up my new pal Neal Carpenter on iTunes – he has one song, “Don’t Give Up On Me,” for sale. And you guys. Believe me when I say that this is such a good song. It is worth way more than the 99 cents you will pay for it – and wouldn’t it just make Neal’s day to sell a bunch of songs? But in all honesty, I recommend this to you more for YOUR sake than his. He’s like a male version of Patty Griffin – and if you know anything about my musical taste, you’ll know that that’s just about the biggest compliment I could give anyone. Seriously – for less than the price of a pack of gum, you will be rewarded with a song that you will never want to end. This might be Neal’s first song on iTunes, but it won’t be his last.

And while you’re there on iTunes, you should also grab the exquisite Catherine Hessler’s “How Many Angels,” written by one of my very dearest friends, Katie Freeze. This one little track will change your Christmas season, I promise. I don’t even like Christmas music, but this song makes me weep. Sometimes I listen to it in July, just because my heart needs to be woken up a little bit. “Telling me I am beloved, and telling me never to fear…” – words we all need to hear, words we all need to believe.

Next, you have to revisit the darling dog that the Handy Graham took in off the street. His official name is Wallingford Rufus Rutherford Parsons – but Graham doesn’t know that, and he just calls him Copper.  Take it from me: this is the sweetest, most adorable little pup you could ever find, and would be an amazing addition to your life. Now, adopt him – or find a friend who will.

And finally, be careful about sucking face, kids.

I imagine he already tried it, but did Handy Graham take Copper to a vet or a shelter to scan for a microchip?

What a handsome dog Copper is. I can’t quite figure out what kind of mutt he is, but he’s 100% cute.

I hope he finds a home.

I hate to nit-pick. Especially on the blog of one miss AP. However, I CAN NOT remain silent on this matter. Perhaps it has been lost in translation, however, there are some very major inconsistencies in the “sucking face” article.
    1. “The kiss reduced the pressure in the mouth, pulled the eardrum out and caused the breakdown of the ear.” That must have been some SERIOUS SUCKING. Like a vaccuum cleaner. This is almost impossible. Unless the girl had just been scuba diving, then in an airplane, then decided to kiss her vaccuum mouth boyfriend (whom she should have dumped a long time ago for kissing like that)whilst she had an ear infection, this cannot happen. Or, if by some freak it can happen, the severe pain associated with an atelectic ear drum would have caused her to stop long before damage occured..

    2. “A strong kiss may cause an imbalance in the air pressure between two inner ears and lead to a broken ear drum.” While sucking may cause an imbalance in pressure between the OUTSIDE WORLD and the middle ear, it can not cause an imblance in pressure in the ONE inner ear. That pressure, my friends, is regulated by cerebrospinal fluid. Now, it IS possible that the sucking of the kiss (ew), could have pulled the eustachian tub shut, then caused the ear drum to also be sucked in toward the middle ear bones, and ripped from the wall of the ear canal; this MAY have caused a displacement in the bones rupturing the membrane between the middle and inner ear causing a release of fluid/pressure change and subsequent hearing loss. Seems unlikely, no?

Thank you AP, this was perfect study for my comprehensive exams. You did that on purpose, no?

But still, yes, little annie parsons: NO SUCKING FACE.

Ok, Annie. I read about Mr. Copper. Have you seen my “status” on Facebook?? Probably not. But…it just so happens to say that, “Andrea is looking for the perfect puppy!” We want to find a dog, that we can afford, for our boys…you know, Julie’s nephews. You guys are so far away from us, but what if we could work something out??? Road trip to Wisconsin for you single people??? :) Message me on FB if interested!

Hey, I bought the song and Ken is now playing along on the piano…. VERY nice song. Now tell me which Patti Griffin song or album to start with. You’re turning us into country music fans….
