Y is for Yes

blog

Did I think I had to go to work today?
Was I pleasantly surprised to learn that I didn’t?
Am I hooked on “Twilight”?
When I read it, do I tell my roommates that I’m “vamping it up”?
Could I live on pizza and wine?
Did I run 6 miles yesterday morning?
Did I want to quit at mile 5?
But did I keep going?
Am I going to run even further next week?
Is my hair growing at warp-speed?
Did I buy a jumper from Wal-Mart for $3?
Am I without a career ambition?
Are my toes and fingers always cold?
Do I need a new car battery?
Do I need a new computer battery?
Am I going to live without both for a while?
Have I made my peace with my baby blue bathroom walls?
Am I wrestling with some really big questions about God and prayer?
Is my blog getting a face-lift soon?
Is there a great new fake news site out there?
At 26-years old, is my favorite question still, “Who do you have a crush on?”

Crazy clever title, AP – Y is for Yes. Very smart!

My crush is anyone who will do my laundry for me. But I haven’t found someone willing to do that, so I haven’t had a crush for a while.

Paramore has a song called “Crushcrushcrush.” I don’t know what it’s about. I usually just sing, “1, 2, 3, 4” and “crush crush crush.” I mention it because the word Paramore reminds me of vampires. They share some common letters.

I’m glad to see that yet another intelligent woman has fallen in love with the anorexic, emo-vampires that inhabit the hills outside of Forks, WA. Oh wait… the vampires only look that way in the movie.

Apparently, people are flocking to Forks on little “Twilight Pilgrimages”. It’s a po-dunk town, and the locals don’t know what to make of it.

    Enjoy your day off!

I’m glad you made peace with the walls. I don’t think baby blue is the worst color… :)

this is one of the only blogs I read where I enjoy the reader comments almost as much as the blogger’s post. Almost. :o)

One of my friends gave me a “back to school” bag with supplies.

Included was a wall poster of “the” Edward Cullen.

I mean, Robert Pattinson as Edward. Or whatever.

I find that to be one of the most fabulous gifts I’ve gotten in a really long time!

I haven’t run 5 miles or 6 in a REALLY long time, so now I feel like I’ve got to get my butt out there an push a little.

    You bought a jumper?

Car battery? Try as long as you can and don’t drive too far away from people you know.

Computer battery? You can do without it. Mine was totally dead to where I can’t unplug it and I survived for months.

Edward Cullen is MY crush, too. I haven’t seen the movie, though – I’m basing this crush completely on my experience of him through the book.

I think he’s the perfect man.

    Except he’s a vampire.

    I don’t care. I love him forever.

    well annie.

if and when you see the movie, you may drool. and i don’t mean that in the way that happens when you fall asleep.

the word verification? ‘fackts’. it’s a fackt that he is good-looking.

With regards to “Am I wrestling with some really big questions about God and prayer?”

    Been there.

    Done that.

    Run away.

Come back… and am so glad…

    Bottom line:

He forgives you… Will you forgive him for what he has done in NOT answering your prayers?
(Sometimes I thank God For Unanswered Prayers–Garth Brooks song) We’re only given what we can and will handle… with “his” grace.” Who knows what is better/best for you/us as individuals???

Dreams are His granted wishes but within How will/does one accept and offer back?

How will one handle, for example, a family AND a career? How will their family handle it? Is the timing right for both, right now? What should come first? What lessons should be learned before either come to fruition?

Ever see “It’s a Wonderful Life?”

Who will be there for you when everyone else is gone? Do we think we will all move on to the same apartment complex and live their for eternity?

I’m not sure why I was compelled to respond to this but of all the beautiful things you’ve written that I’ve read, this caused me concern.

    Big ol’ hug

    ae

P.S. Do the right thing(s)… Patience… Persistence… Do the right thing(s)… Patience… Persistence… Soon you’ll be having tea with beautiful ladies from your church and laughing and talking about the good ol’ days.

I’m oh-so-glad that you, Annie– witty, hilarious, brave, and grounded– have also succumbed to the charms of Edward Cullen and Meyers’ amazing world of mythical creatures. It makes me feel a little less idiotic for being so obsessed myself… and being 31 years old. I have sought out all sorts of info about the books, character, and now actors. My room mate teases me and says it’s my daily “research”. Oh well. So worth it.
