The life and times

blog

I am currently dog-sitting for a delightful dog named Shelby.  She jumps the fence and eats band-aids out of the trash can, but I like her anyway.  Yesterday morning, I took her to the dog park to let her run, and she immediately befriended a greyhound.  She chased it around, but unfortunately, did not have the capacity to understand that she was chasing a GREYHOUND, so she never quite caught up.

Shelby has no idea that she’s just a little mutt.

Sometimes, I wish that I didn’t know my limitations – that I felt free to run as hard and fast as I can, giving no thought to my deficiencies or how I stack up against others – just completely at rest with who I am.

I should take a lesson from the little mongrel.

And now, tidbits worth mentioning but not really worth blogging about:

1) People, the weather.  My stars.  Last year, this didn’t happen until October 2 – but I am thrilled to report that this year, the change happened a few days early.

2) I have never seen anything so magical.  Is this too good to be true? Because I am coveting like you would not believe.

3) I finished my EP.  I’m listening to it right now on my headphones!  This IS worth blogging about, just not yet.  Stay tuned – I cannot wait for you to hear it.

4) And I know that you’ve been on the edge of your seat all weekend, so: no, I still have not barfed since I was 14.  Don’t you worry your pretty little head for one tiny second.  All better.  Back at work.  Just caused a coffee flood in the kitchen.

Everything is back to normal.

My husband and I have also been coveting the Bullet Express. But also wondering if it is too good to be true. Be sure to let us blog rubes know if you get one and how you like it!

I’m exceited for the EP! How much longer will we have to wait?

The Bullet looks awesome, but I have to wonder how they expect to make money on selling it for $20 if it’s not a poorly-made piece of junk. I don’t buy the $480 vallue either.

Not $20. “6 easy payments of $19.99.” That makes it more legitimate in my mind. Hmmmm… :)

(oh no that’s going to make a yellow smiley face, huh…?)

    EP waiting…

Ahh yes. You are sooo right, 6 easy payments of $19.99.
Still that’s roughly $120.00 which still sounds like a tough price to sell that for and profit if it’s made well with good materials.

Too good to be true. Even the original bullet isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Won’t even chop ice. Give it up. Nothing is as good as it seems…. Can’t wait for the EP!!

We had a little dachshund who would bark at big dogs, too. She had NO idea how small she was (10 pounds). Kind of inspiring.

I’m excited to hear more about your EP – and also glad you avoided the barfing. It’s no fun at ALL – take it from someone who recently got sick on a plane. Yeccch.

Danny is doing some major coveting of the Bullet Express but since we have the Magic Bullet (that’s still in the box), Snuggies, P90X, Xti200 and ShamWOW!, we probably need a break from infomercial products.
Bonus – I can get your blog at work(where my internet usage is highly restricted. Yay!!

I sort of want a snuggie. Is that ok?

  13. Emily from Seattle on September 30, 2009 at 1:41 PM

I don’t get the whole Snuggie phenomenon. Why not just wear a bathrobe? That’s essentially what the Snuggie is: a backwards bathrobe!

My dog is a mutt. She’s 45 pounds and her best friend is my parent’s 7 pound Shih Tzu. They are SO cute when they play. Molly will stand on the couch while Rookie stands on the floor so that they are face to face!

Sweetness! can I steal a listen when i come through on Monday (playing at Bongo Java)? I’ll have my cd-player with me… and maybe this way we can do an actual, honest-to-goodness swap since i didn’t give you my cd last time.
