No. But now that I do I am severely creeped out. Looks like it’s nightmares for me tonight.

    Nope.

  4. lauren on March 12, 2010 at 1:50 PM

Um, absolutely. Me and my sister had all the families. And the house. And maybe even a tree house?

  5. Emily on March 12, 2010 at 1:55 PM

I didn’t know that is what they were called, but as soon as I saw them I totally recognized them.

Oh wait – I take it back. After a quick Googling, yes, I DO remember those. I never had them, but totally wanted them when I was little. Didn’t remember that that is what they’re called. Major blast from past.

Yeah I know what they are, I remember seeing them in stores as a kid.

Yesss. Valerie had a poster of them hanging in our room.

Yes and I remember playing with them as a child but I don’t remember where. I know my family didn’t own any.

…is the name of a line of video games and anthropomorphic collectible toy plush figures, created by Japanese company Epoch in 1985 and distributed worldwide by a number of companies. other than that, nope.

    Yes…and I always wanted one!

    yes.
i had some when i was younger.
but my friend had a sylvanian family house that was huge and she had loads of them. i was always jealous.

Sort of, but all these years I thought they were figurines from the cartoon Maple Town. Maybe they’re just similar…?

My guess was that they would be related to a Nielson family, now that I have google imaged them, clearly not. Little kid me would have loved having a house with those those animal families though. (To my utter shock, my mom gave me a huge fancy doll house for Christmas one year. When
I did play with it, all the people lived outside on the tiny deck, and the two pets took over that three story dream home.) If only we had known about Sylvanian families when I was six.

Ha, I wound up googling them, too. My sister and I played w/them when we were kids. Pretty cute.

I just saw them in a mall in Chiang Mai, Thailand and felt very confused…but curious. I didn’t know it was an American thing. So random.

  17. Kimberly on March 14, 2010 at 12:26 AM

    nope

  18. Julianne on March 15, 2010 at 8:14 AM

I just found out a few weeks ago because my friends became one.

  19. Julianne on March 15, 2010 at 8:16 AM

WAIT–forget my former comment–I was thinking of a Nielsen family. I have no idea what a Sylvanian family is.

  20. annie on March 15, 2010 at 4:44 PM

    Not me.

  21. Dani on March 15, 2010 at 5:13 PM

    I LOVED them. SO much.

I still have my entire collection in my parent’s attic. I loved the rabbits and especially the babies. So tiny and cute. I even bought real doll house furniture and accessories for my sylvanian families.
My mom just told me the other day that they were still there. I kind of want to get them back out and play with them. My own little family that I could control where they were and what they did. As a particularly anal child, they were all doing what they were supposed to be doing.
I didn’t realize how therapeutic this comment was going to be. Ha!

Yes! They were so much fun – I had the Bear and Rabbit families and they are in a box in my parents basement waiting for MY kids!

  24. Beth on March 30, 2010 at 1:07 PM

yes! my dad made me a table/village with a train and houses and trees and roads for my sylvanian families to live on! I loves the fuzzy bodies and little clothes! and the babies were really cute! I had bears, foxes, racoons, bunnies…i’m sure others! they were my favorite other than my pound puppy, hot cocoa! :) good memories!
