More questions than answers

How is 7-11 still in business when most of them don’t even have gas pumps?  Are Slurpees really a big enough draw?

How can I lose so much hair every day, and still HAVE so much hair every day?

What does a stress fracture feel like?  Do I have one in each ankle?

Where can we find the world’s greatest mac & cheese?  Should it have lobster in it?  Should it have green chilis in it?  Should it have cream cheese in it?

Why can’t “lackadaisical” mean “twirl in a twirly dress”?

(I so wish “lackadaisical” meant “twirl in a twirly dress.”)

How many times will I go to 3 Crow Bar and Ugly Mugs next week?

Why did I buy that baggy dress at Target last night?

How can almonds have so many calories?

What are you doing this weekend?

Just wondering.

While I can’t answer all of these – not even close – I can answer the M&C question. There is a relatively new place in Wallingford called Smash Bar – with the most amazing mac and cheese. It has a little bit of truffle oil in it, but I don’t think that’s necessary. NO on lobster, chilis and heavens no on cream cheese! My mom’s was the best – not baked – just creamy on-the-stove stuff.
Almonds – their calories are balanced by their good-for-you-ness.
    That’s it from here!

One of those times when you’re at Ugly Mugs can I meet you? And then on Saturday, I’ll be wearing a twirly dress…if you’re wearing a twirly dress, I suggest we twirl until we walk like gin-soaked, blind, 80 yr old women.

Lackadaisical- Webster totally wasted a wonderfully whimsical word on the definition of “listless” or “without interest.” In fact, one could say that it’s a lackadaisical definition. I like yours better. :)

Almonds- They’re good for your heart, if nothing else. Kind of like beans, but that’s a different story…

Cara, one thing’s for sure: on Saturday, I actually will be gin-soaked.

    KIDDING, WORLD! Or am I?

    There’s nothing wrong w/ being gin-soaked.

Almonds are good for you. The salted ones are less good for you, so if you want to eat those, maybe you won’t feel bad about the calories :).

I’m not really picky about my mac and cheese, but if you use Tillamook Cheese when you make it, one thing is for certain: it will be good.

    Was the baggy dress cute?

I always thought “besmirched” should mean something along the lines of someone insulting you in a condescending way.

We could rewrite the dictionary, I suppose.

A new restaurant is opening in St. Louis : Cheese-ology. It will specialize in all types of mac & cheese. I think a visit will greatly increase your chances of finding the perfect combination!

I always wonder that about the hair. there is just no way it’s growing back in as quickly as it’s falling out. impossible.

As for 7 11…the sheer amount of slurpees my family buys is probably keeping them in business. Now for Ugly Mugs and 3 Crow…now matter how many times you go…it will never be enough ;) Wish I was there. My bf is running with the nasties tonight so I should tell him to give you a big sweaty hug. haha. He’ll be the skinny thing in running shorts…oh wait. And as for the M&C…please tell me when you find the answer :)
