Pop quiz, hot shot

blog

Name the 10 countries in the world whose names are made up of 4 letters.

(Now, of course, you might use the Internet to cheat and pretend like you just knew them off the top of your head.  But if I were you, I’d rather go to heaven.)

Peru, Iraq, Iran, Cuba, umm… Spai…

    Togo
    Chad
    Niger
    Mali…
I can’t think of any more… I only know those from briefly studying Africa for 4-H. Ah well.

Unless, of course, you can count and know that Niger is five letters. My brain demands food from me, until then it rebels and makes me stupid. >.<

Proud to say I got 8 out of 10 without Papa Google. Togo and Oman were the ellusive little tricksters.

I think some of these aren’t countries, but at least I didn’t cheat! I couldn’t think of 10 either :(

    Chad
    Iraq
    Iran
    Peru
    Mali
    Guam
    Bali

OK – with no cheating except from the friends above*
    IRAN
    IRAQ
    CHAD
    FIJI
    MALI
    CUBA*
    PERU*
    OMAN*
    TOGO*
I think Bali is really part of Indonesia?
Guam is a US Territory with some special designation – not independent.
    There is one more?

OF COURSE PEG KNOWS!!!!!!! Yes, Bali is part of Indonesia. The one thing I know courtesy of a delicious little trip last year.

Yep, Leave it to Peg! I got 6 without looking, but Bali was one of those, so 5:

I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard of Mali :-/. I sooooo failed your pop quiz.

I care nothing about countries with four-letter names, but your last admonishment against potential cheaters cracked me up. Using that one next year with those [four-letter-word] plagiarizers.

Without looking at other’s posts or the internets:

    Cuba, Mali, Peru, Iran, Iraq, Oman, Laos, Chad . . . thinking . . . Togo . . . and . . .

You got me, but I totally would have remembered the other one a year ago when I was teaching 4th grade geography.

    Cuba
    Iran
    Iraq
    Chad
USSR (ha ha ha! Just kidding)

    I’m stumped after that.
