Something new

blog

I told some new friends last night that I’m struggling with some sadness – the death of some hope, the grief of some disappointments.  It’s not depression – because trust me, if anyone knows depression, it’s me – it’s just sadness.  For some legitimate reasons.

Sometimes life is just sad.

Don’t you sometimes wish that your old broken heart could just be made into something new?

(I’ve written about this before – but back then, I was a much better writer.  This girl’s getting rusty.  Thanks for still reading anyway.)

sorrow… it’s such a real part of our walk. I love that you’re okay with being there. get to know those places, grow roots down into them. Jesus resides there, truly.

I’m sorry you are going through this, but you are not alone. I am actually feeling the exact same way and it was a relief to know that I am not the only one. Times like these only make us stronger. Hang in there :)

    Psalm 86

Hear, O LORD, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy. Guard my life, for I am devoted to you.
You are my God; save your servant
who trusts in you. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long. Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord,
    I lift up my soul.

You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call on you. Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.

Among the gods there is none like you, O Lord; no deeds can compare with yours. All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name. For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.

Teach me your way, O LORD,
    and I will walk in your truth;
    give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.

I’m still waiting on a broken heart to mend, too. It takes time or it just takes forever… I’m not sure, yet ;).

I think if you start referring to yourself as “Annie Parsons – sparkly wonder child that everyone loves and adores, and we TOTALLY need to invite her to our party!” you’ll feel much better :).

    1. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 At least you know what’s coming!

    2. I forgot you used to live in Seattle. Guess where I am reading this from RIGHT NOW?
