Memorial Day weekend.  Aren’t you so glad?

My very long hair is currently twisted into two tight French braids, which I will release tomorrow into a crazy mane.

I am heading to Home Depot tonight to get the supplies to refinish some bedroom furniture.  If it turns out well, expect a celebratory picture post.  If it doesn’t, forget I ever said anything.

Other plans this weekend include several hikes, making Monika’s spinach zucchini pancakes, and reading Shania’s autobiography (naturally).

Care to share your holiday weekend plans?

congrats on refinishing something yourself! You should check out http://www.ana-white.com for some cool furniture plans that aren’t that hard to build. I have made my bed and office tables from her plans! Now I just have a sawdust problem.

Sounds like a great weekend! Hope they turn out well for you. Let me know how it goes. You may need to play with the consistency a bit depending on the non-stickiness of the skillet. The original recipe called for a couple teaspoons of water, but I didn’t want them runny. Runny pancakes are no bueno.

Ooh Annie, you know how I love a good furniture project. I have refinished lots of pieces (successfully and not-so-successfully); let me know if you run into a hurdle! slash, just call me to say hi. :)
I’ll be relaxing on the (chilly but) lovely shores of Sunny Bay at my parent’s beach house this weekend. much love, friend.

Two graduation parties for the last of the kids I knew when I led youth group, some good family hangout time, and planting my garden on Monday! First garden ever–super excited! Good luck with the furniture building–you are braver than I.

Working my last scheduled shift at the animal hospital tomorrow. I might occasionally pick up a shift every so often, but no more working 6 days a week. Thank goodness! This was the longest year and a half of my life.

Tomorrow night I’m going to a baseball game. Yankees vs Mariners. First professional sports game I’ve ever been to. It’ll be fun!

Best of luck with your furniture! I’m sure it’ll turn out nicely.
