Itty bitty tidbits

Something I Googled this morning:
Is kennel cough contagious to humans?

Because – bad news – Kodi has kennel cough.  And also – bad news – it is.

– – – – – – – –

First, “The Pianist” came from Netflix.  Then, “The Piano” came from Netflix.

What in the world.  Why did I choose to watch these back-to-back?  I’m so depressed.  If you happen to know something happy, please share.

I’m so bored of my running playlist (Roxette’s “It Must Have Been Love” is only SO inspiring – although, let’s be real, it’s pretty damn inspiring).

What are the best songs to run to?  I’m thinking of utilizing this.

– – – – – – – –

Sometimes I miss Nashville so much, I can hardly breathe.  The next day, it’s Seattle.  Today, both are very much true.

But right now, in this moment, I choose to be present in this city, on this day, with these tasks, and these people.

I believe that the future holds good things.

But I also choose to acknowledge that the present holds good things.

It is a choice, you know.

    My fave running songs:

“Pump It” – Black Eyed Peas (actually most of their stuff is pretty good to run to.)
“What the Hell” – Avril Lavigne
    “Raise Your Glass” – Pink
    “Stronger” – Britney Spears
    “Tick Tock” – Kesha
“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” – Miley Cyrus
“Hot N Cold” – Katy Perry
“My Life Would Suck Without You” – Kelly Clarkson AND Glee

Three cheers for cheesy pop music!

Your Roxette comment further proves that we are e-friend soulmates.

Sorry about Kodi. Hope she’s feeling better soon & doesn’t pass the cough on. Poor baby.

Between every —– of this post, I thought to myself “she so gets me.”

The Piano is my favorite movie. Of. All. Time. The soundtrack alone can bring me to tears.

I was thinking last night during my run that I needed a new playlist. How did I not know about jog.fm before!? Thanks! (Also, I signed up for the Seattle half)

It’s good to be reminded that it is a choice to be present, happy, content. I’m working on it…

I suggest Roxette’s other hit from the same 1991 album, “Joyride’.

You know… I worked in clinics for 6 years and never once did I hear a vet tell somebody that kennel cough is contagious. Also, I’ve never met anybody who has caught it from their dog. I wouldn’t be too concerned unless you plan on making out with Toad.

  11. Lyla on October 5, 2011 at 8:42 PM

I should specify… kennel cough is totally contagious between dogs. I should say that I never once heard a vet express to a human being that kennel cough is zoonotic… or transferrable to humans. Anyway, like I said… I wouldn’t be real concerned.

Also, I would like to point out that the website you linked to is produced by a company trying to sell you an immune supplement for dogs. While this doesn’t make it inaccurate… it does make sense that they’d be trying to scare you into buying the supplement to prevent your dog from getting kennel cough so that you don’t get it.

Ok. I’m done now. Pretty sure, anyway.

i second lyla, and i told you that this morning!

Why would I ever second-guess information about kennel cough from a website called KENNELCOUGH.COM?

For the last 1.75 years I have eliminated all sad music from any playlist I can control and axed sad movies. Guess what. IT IS AWESOME. I am all about melancholy, but some seasons require axing all extraneous sadness. I recommend this. You’ll love it. Get trashy movies and books, action and stupidity, and fill extra moments with hilariosity. The children in your life can recommend things. Like reading Captain Underpants with them.
