Neighborhood pest

raccoon

I’ve been walking Foxy after dark these days. I know, I know – but just because the sun is going down earlier doesn’t mean she needs any less exercise.

Last night, walking through crunchy leaves, I rounded the corner and noticed a man on the porch of the house I was passing. He was frantically trying to unlock his front door. When he noticed me, he turned around and breathed a huge sigh of relief.

“I heard you coming. I thought you were a raccoon.”

Well boogedy boogedy.

Yeah…they are bad this year. Boulder, unfortunately, thinks we should “co-exist” with them. I’d prefer to end their existence.
Had to punch one off my porch the other morning….

If I wasn’t proctoring an exam, I would be rolling on the floor laughing! Not a mugger…not a psycho killer…not a terrorist…no, he was afraid you were a raccoon! We have them, too, and skunks, which are much scarier to encounter at night, and the occasional possum. Oh, Annie…you make me smile!

Seattle as always – is full of them. All that water we have you know. Not long ago I looked out the window at my grape arbor and a rolly-polly bandit was sitting there eating my grapes. Grrrr. I chased him away, but as he jumped down he turned and looked as if saying, “yea lady – I’ll be back later, sheesh.” Hate them – but not exactly scared of them.
