Fighting the summer wilt
One month from now is now one week from now.
Oh, Pacific Northwest. Save me from today’s forecast.
I thought that maybe – maybe – my second Nashville summer might feel a bit more manageable than my first. But to be frank, it’s hellacious. I feel angry all the time.
I DO enjoy the fireflies, though. They don’t get old.
I’m REALLY loving white wine this year, for the first time ever.
And… well, unless you can give me more, those are the only reasons I can think of to look on the bright side of the summer.

The PNW doesn’t really feel like summer at all right now… It’s windy and cool, with lots of gray clouds. Yesterday my Greenlake walk got rained on.
BUT.
I was very recently *in* Nashville, and… it WAS pretty brutal. Too much summer or none at all? Not sure which is preferable…
how about… movies in the park, cookouts, sunday fundays, outdoor concerts, strawberries, the feeling of stepping into a cool room from a hot day, camping, canoeing, las paletas, pools, waking up to sunlight, sun dresses, longer days, peaches and nectarines. that’s all i can think of for now, but i can get back to you if you’d like!
Ugh. Once again, if it’s PZC that’s trying to get you to look on the bright side, you need help.
– Cold Yuengling is a good reason to enjoy summer.
– You’re not landscaping.
Having recently been in Texas (104, feels like 107 with high humidity) I feel your pain. I am reminded why I love the PNW, but then again, we did have a rather chilly picnic at the lake last weekend. This is good for you, so you’ll know where you really want to spend your life….
Just so you know, this time last year, I was walking around in 125 degrees with 80% humidity. So as bad as it is, you could do a lot worse.
It’s 103 in Fort Worth today. I literally peel my clothes off when I get home.
OK…so, am I correct that you’ll be cruising from Seattle to Alaska? If this is true, I also find myself wondering if Vancouver is one of your ports of call? And if, perhaps, you require two adoring fans to show you around town? Give us a holler if you’re passing through, friend!

More like you’ll be fleeing the summer wilt, it sounds like… happy 4th!
I miss fireflies! I would catch them in a fruit jar…when I visited my grandparents in Huntsville, AL. Ah, those were the days…
