You’re only a month away
One month from yesterday, I will be leaving here…
… and flying here.
One month from today, I will be on my way here…
… onboard this.
One month from tomorrow, I will be watching these…
… with wonderful family members, including them.
We will welcome her back from Haiti.
I will buy her one of these.
And upon re-porting in Seattle, I’ll be a bridesmaid for them.
Who might as well be them.
All of these things make me feel like this.

In fifteen days, I will be done with student teaching. In ten days I will graduate. In one day I will present my final lesson in front of my University Supervisor as last proof that I am ready to be a teacher.
And I have SO much to do before then…!!!
Counting to the one month when I get to see my best friend… and just enjoy marital merriment, without piles of grading hanging over my head.
I miss you!!
Hurray! Sounds like you’ve got some fun stuff goin’ on :) I love the pictures!!
In one day, I will help my mentor (who is 35 and an amazing woman of God) marry the man of her dreams.
In five days, I get a glorious massage for my shoulders to relieve my tension headaches.
In twelve days, I arrive in California and meet up with some of my best family members!
In thirty-seven days I move to Atlanta for a year to be an au pair!!
So excited… :)
I love photo stories! That was fun…
The second thing, today, that has made my day. I am hoping that each and everything for the rest of the day makes my day as well. And yours!
remind me to get you some wine to go with your cheese.
I enjoy visuals very much. thanks!
haha of COURSE you’re excited to buy your little sis a mojito!
it’ll be a huge occasion when she gets back and can drink with all of you on the cruise. it won’t give her culture shock at ALL.
In four days I will still be right where I am. :D You’ve got a lot going on! Be sure to let us know how all of these pictures turn out in a month.
Well done my friend :)
so for clarification, will you be on the Alaskan cruise while you intend to watch the fireworks? because you know it’s like 24/7 sun up here right??
Yay!!! Alaska!!!!!
I wish you were stopping in Anchorage… :(
Marijke…
WHAT??!?? No fireworks?????!? How are you guys even America?
Oh I think they still do them, they just have to wait until midnight or so…. Don’t give up hope just yet.
(and by the way, we’ve been having GREAT weather. you picked a good summer…)
This post is completely delightful.
Annie: you sparkle.
You are really good at fitting a lot of emotion into very little space and you are an excellent example of what people ought to be.
Also… don’t worry about the fireworks. There will be fireworks. When I lived in Ketchikan (which I imagine will be one of your stops along the way), there were fireworks. Maybe not great ones since it’s a tiny place, but there were fireworks.
By the way, when I went to my first Seattle fireworks display, I was bowled over. After 18 years of Montrose fireworks, I had NO IDEA that you could make smiley faces and 3D cubes in the sky.
This post is full of awesomeness. But to add to the fireworks dilemma, if you’re sailing there that day, you might be in Canadian waters on the 4th, and if you can believe this, those bastards don’t celebrate our Independence Day, the NERVE!!! Believe it or not they go as far as having their OWN holiday on July 1.
But for the record, I hope you get as many fireworks as your heart can stand. If not on the 4th, then maybe at the reception of Miranda’s wedding with a certain young man?
Sorry; Annie and I will be too busy with garden tools out behind the gazebo to participate in certain-young-man-type-of-fireworks at Miranda’s wedding.
I mean… Annie, if you have certain-young-man-type-of-fireworks… That’s okay. I mean that’s totally GREAT.
I will just do you-know-what by myself… :)
I’ll pretend Casey didn’t call me a bastard.
Plus, what’s wrong with having different holidays? We are from different countries after all…
Umm, it was a joke. Stupid internet. I heart Canada, trust me. I consistently call the Couv, N. America’s best city.
p.s. Greta, did you know that when I type with a dog on my lap, your name could accidentally be spelled Great? B/c you are, and you and Annie equally deserve, what did you say Annie, scruffy young men (who love Jesus and are as dynamic as you, hard to come by, I know).
BUT, if none are found (on eHarmony, at Julie’s wedding, or otherwise), Burly wanted to let you know he is available for all the snuggling you can handle, and then some. Apparently I will have my hands full when Claire is born this next week, and then he’s gonna need some supplemental attention, b/c heaven forbid he ever lay by himself.
No worries, Casey. I’m glad you clarified that though because Americans can be ignorant and self-righteous. I’ll be moving to Atlanta for a year and hopefully I’ll be welcomed down there!
hi there! i haven’t been to your blog, or any blog (including my own) for that matter, in eons. so what a delight to scroll and see the illustrious downtown seattle upon viewing. and the gorgeous photos of what look like alaska but may be canada. all to say, i’m insanely jealous of your vacation!! enjoy. or have you already gone? i’m out to lunch and sadly, not literally.
