Bursting
Judge me if you will, but I plan on bawling my eyes out when I see Jessi Alexander sing Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” at the Bluebird tonight.
That song makes my heart burst.
Speaking of my heart bursting, yesterday, I received a rogue voicemail that somehow wound up in our queue at work from a little old lady wondering if we could tell her when “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” would be on.
The highlight of my day was being able to call her and let her know that in St. Louis, it would be on at 6:30pm on channel 2.

Oh that warms my heart, thinking of Annie calling grannies.
And I’m sure the Bluebird will be great, I had an awesome time when I went with you last year.
Annie, you have a rare ability: you can stand just slightly outside life. It allows you to be an observer and chronicler, while most of us are too involved just living it to be able to *see* it.
Thanks for helping us to see what we are looking at.
I love it when I can help someone with something totally random. It make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It breaks with the normal routine nicely too.
Ha.
I love that Miley Cyrus song too. I remember the first time I heard it, driving in between two cities I call home and whining in my head to God about how hard this season is, and then suddenly it hit me like a sucker punch to the soul.
And with tears in my eyes, I thought, “Oh yeah. That’s what it’s about.”
That, and making sure I am smarter than a 5th grader.
Wait, I’m confused about what your company does.
My friend/co-worker gets the most bizarre questions at work–she works the front desk for the student life department…I was there one time when a freshman student came in and asked if there was someone who could help her put her nose ring in.
And…I don’t know that song, but I think I need to look it up.
And…good news…I just found season two of FNL at the library, which means we can finally watch the last episode of that season and start season 3.
Julianne, I work for an email marketing firm. I answer emails and voicemails about HTML and billing and spam filters and design and formatting and response rates and, apparently, what’s on Fox tonight.
FNL forever!! Get ready for season 3 – you will never be the same.
It makes me giggle that you called that little old lady and told her when her show was on. That’s a little bit awesome.
