Track 6: “First You Cry”

I am blogging through the weekend, because I started this thing, and I am not a quitter – except for when it comes to dieting. And Type From Home.

“First You Cry”

This world is totally screwed up. It’s a place where men leave their wives, where husbands and fathers have to be taken off of life support, where parents lose their 3-year old sons, where my own sweet mama was diagnosed with cancer this past Tuesday. Things are completely and utterly twisted, and we are sometimes left with the impossible task of picking up the pieces.

But the world doesn’t wait. Life goes on. You still have to do all of those little things that make up everyday life, even when you don’t feel like it.

But first, you cry.

This track has been deleted – you should buy the EP to hear it!

This one is gorgeous :). If by some crazy chance, I hadn’t liked the other 5 (but I did), this one would have me sold.

Oh, and my thoughts are with your family as well. Cancer sucks :(.

I saw that it was another track and I just skipped ahead to click play :).

:( Your mom and your family will be in my thoughts. I am glad you have such a tight knit clan so that she can have all sorts of love and support.

I gave your CD to one of my co-workers (not because I didn’t like it, but because I know she likes country… if you have any left down the road, I’ll buy another copy for me.) Anyway, they were listening to it at work and one of the other co-wokers said that you sound like a “grown up” Dixie Chick or Pattie Smith (I don’t know who that is, but I am sure you do.) She also said that she can totally see sitting around on a Sunday morning drinking a cup of coffee and listening to your CD. :)

Praying for your mother, as well as for you and your family.

This song…cuts straight to my heart. For about two years (at least) I felt like this most days but eventually things got better. The past few weeks though I’ve been caught off guard with tears and worries. Just this morning I was listening to your EP when this song came on and your words reminded me that I’ve been there before. Been there and kept going and came though and that I can do it again. Thank you, dear Annie.

You’ve done an awesome job on this EP, Annie. This one so far is my favorite! Praying for your mom with love — God can do amazing things.

Annie: My 84-year-old mother is 2 years past her cancer! They can do miracles and so can God!
