Post-race, posthaste

Written by hootenannie on April 26th, 2010

I’m alive!  I finished!  And I cut 9 minutes off my time from last year.  I’m glad that I did it, and glad that it’s over.  That just about sums it all up.

I will never be one of those people who loves to run, or who is super fast – but I have an able body and legs that work, and therefore, it’s a privilege to participate in something like a half-marathon.  A sometimes torturous privilege, but a privilege all the same.

Such a privilege that I will post a grody picture of myself.

    I am glad you ran.
I am glad you are in Nashville.
And I am REALLY glad we are friends. :)

PS – 9 minutes is HUGE! That is over 41 seconds PER MILE faster – every mile. HUGE.

Nine minutes? Miss Parsons, you rock! haha. And I personally do not think it’s fair that you still look adorable after a race. I’m a hot mess :) CONGRATS!!!

“You’ll never be someone who loves to run or who runs super fast?” Um, hello? You run around 10 miles on any given day and you run them FAST. I, on the other hand, start huffing and puffing at about 1/4 of ONE mile. And then I stop running. I admire your tenacity.
