Crossing words
If there is one thing that I cannot resist, it’s a good crossword puzzle. Some go for the New York Times, but me? Nothing helps stimulate my mind quite like In Touch magazine’s “Time to Relax” section, including both a Sudoku puzzle and an ultra-challenging crossword about fashion and the entertainment industry. That’s right: I’m a paper gamer.
Thoughts thought today while working on the crossword starring Gwyneth Paltrow:
• A four-letter word for “Horn sound”… uh oh. Beep? Toot? Honk?
• A four-letter word for “Uncool guy”… uh oh again. Nerd? Geek? Dork?
• Note to self: it is “epsoM salt,” not “epsoN salt.” Revise vocabulary accordingly.
• “Half a McDonalds logo” = “arch,” not “n.”
• It is universally known that “Sheep’s cry” – “baa,” though “bah” makes more sense.
• It is universally known that “Drive-___ window” = “thru,” though “through” is more correct…er.
• “Gwyneth and Chris’ daughter” = Apple. “Gwyneth and Chris’ son” = Moses. “Gwyneth’s former fiancé” = Brad Pitt.
