You know how sometimes…

blog

– your hair just needs to be cut?  Immediately?  Because all of a sudden, and without warning, you are Morticia?

– you wear the black racerback tank with the rainbow graphic eagle on the front?  Because it’s so awesome?

– you eat breakfast at an oatmeal cart?  Because this is Portland?

– you hear a song that changes your life?  Because it gives you the words and the framework to deal with what you couldn’t deal with before?  And it’s called “Closer to the Moon” by Alli Rogers?

– you write a blog in a format that gives the illusion that we’re all on the same page, when really, we’re probably not?  Because not everyone can own a black racerback tank with a rainbow graphic eagle on the front?

I’m really glad you enjoyed the oatmeal at our carts. Great people. Enjoy Portland.

I hit that haircut point when I was in San Diego last week…and had to wait several days before I was home and could cut it. IT. WAS. BRUTAL.

and it would be rather disturbing to see me in a black racerback tank with a rainbow graphic eagle on the front… so let’s just not go there but at least it’s an illusion of the same page

but because of this blog everyone wishes they owned a black racerback tank with a rainbow graphic eagle on the front.

    – your morticia-like hair finally does get cut, the way you’ve been waiting for OVER A YEAR to do, and within two weeks you realize how freaking long it’s going to take to grow it back now.

This is spooky – I just got my hair cut today. I decided ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH. You’re right – it just happens all of a sudden.

“you hear a song that changes your life? Because it gives you the words and the framework to deal with what you couldn’t deal with before?” Yep…kinda like Annie Parsons: “But first you cry.”

YES. (to the first one) I somehow never plan in advance to get my haircut–I just all of the sudden need one RIGHT NOW and can’t believe that they don’t have appointments until next week.
I can’t say that I own anything like the tank top you described.
And oatmeal carts? I have not heard of such a thing. But I wish there was one on my street.
AND…I will see you in September–the tickets have been purchased–it’s official!

I only wish my hair grew fast enough to have a Morticia moment…

Having a haircut moment right now! I also own a black racerback tank, love it, wouldn’t ever trade it, would die if I lost it, the graphic says “frothy monkey”. Bought it after I creepy stalked the other Annie in Nash. Love your guts, girl.

I don’t own a racerback black with rainbow eagle tank, but by golly I sure love Alli Rogers.

Thanks for the musical pointer – Alli Rogers is *great*!

I’m pretty sure I couldn’t wear the racer back tank with the rainbow eagle graphic.

Oatmeal carts? I’m moving immediately! ha. And about the hair, yes, today. I’m about to go 1st grade style and cut this with safety scissors.
